Surround Bar 6000 Dolby Digital decoding light

Just bought the SoundBar and a Blu Ray player. Blu Ray is connected to Samsung TV via HDMI and is set to output DD signals. TV is connected to SoundBar with Optical out connection. Played DVD with Dolby Digital soundtrack selected. Source 1 LED light which is normally Blue is supposed to change to Green when decoding a DD signal, but it stays Blue. Tried this a couple of times, checked all settings. Anybody have an any answers on this one?

    Most TV's will not pass through a 5.1/Dolby Digital signal from an HDMI input to the digital output; they will only pass 2 channel (stereo) audio. You will need to connect the digital output from the blu-ray player directly to the sound bar.

    The Blu-ray player I just bought from Best Buy along with the SoundBar is a Panasonic DMP-BD755 (only $90).. Looks like it doesn't have a digital output terminal; only HDMI and a LAN connection. Do most/some Blu-ray players come with digital outputs? Are you aware of any that do?

    Beef Jerky: I assume you mean an optical digital output terminal on the Blu-ray player? I did find players that had this terminal on the Best Buy website. However, with the Soundbar, there's only one optical input; so I assume that means that if I connect the Blu-ray player to it, I'll have to connect the TV and any other source (like my PC) to the analog audio inputs on the Soundbar; so I won't get DD decoding from any other sources. Is that correct? Not that it probably makes a lot of difference with a Soundbar, vs a full fledged surround system. I'm not sure I understand the difference in sound quality/impact with the Soundbar playing two channel vs DD signals considering it's not really a surround system.
