LSI15 + Yamaha V667 + XPA-5
Hi i started a thread earlier about rit12's and monitor 70's but my preference/taste has been evolving over the days and wanted to split it rather than fragment it. I was looking at the lsi15's on polk ebay and wanted the cheapest avr with preouts the v667 and adding the xpa-5.
I would start with these three and then i would be adding in the sub/center/surrounds later on (months/years)
My current setup is
pvr>logitech revue>avr
htcp>avr
Just these two will be my primary sources.
50/50 music/movies(tv shows)
The v667 is on sale (recertified) for 279 newegg.com

Found it thank you, looks like Leroy (i know im spelling his name wrong sorry bro) just unloaded an xpa-5 =(
i'll keep my eyes open, i still have two weeks before i get my passport (expired, long are the days that you could use any government id at the border)
am i shooting myself in the foot going for the v667? I'm new to the avr/pre out/amp thing. If the amp is going to power/run the lsi15's and the avr is going to be doing all the processing and i have a basic HTPC setup or TiVo setup, what features should i be looking for in a AVR?
does the 667 have enough horse power to run just a sub in the future? while the xpa-5 powers the fronts and center? -

Understood. But you know that you need separate amplification, so you need a receiver that has preouts to add one. You are trying your best not to break the bank, but are willing to spend a bit more to do it once the right way so that you can sit back and enjoy it for years to come. This is how it should be done.
So long as whatever receiver you get has all the bells and whistles you want it to have you should be fine. The amp can be used with any and all upgrades you make now and in the future to your system.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2
