PSWI225 Stays on- popping sounds

My PSWI225 has been hooked for a month or 2 and worked fine. Recently, I noticed it wasn't working and changed the channel. It makes loud popping sounds occasionally even when there is no audio being fed into the transmitter. I have it set to turn on automatically. When I run downstairs and look, the green light is on. Eventually it goes off. The popping sounds also occur occasionally while I am watching TV, but it is just dialog playing. It sounds like my neighbor is hitting something with a hammer.

I tried different channels and am still getting the same thing.
