Sansui Au999 & Tu999

I was wondering if anyone has heard this integrated Amp and Tuner, they were manufactured in 1973 and the amp was considered a beast back in the day, there is a guy locally selling this set up they look imaculate, says he had them serviced in the Chicago area 2 years ago. He wont price them he wants you to make him an offer. I was thinking of offering him $300 for the Amp and $100 for the tuner, is that a good offer, or would that be to low, I hear these are sought after, and if they are in good shape one should get it, thoughts anyone?

    thanks for the info I also found the amp on that sight, if the gear is in good of shape as the guy claims then I think what I would offer him should be respectable.

    If they are as he says and both have had a going over by a pro, I think you a hair under on the amp price and alot under on that tuner (one of the best SS tuna's out there). I don't listen to FM that much so I wouldn't pay for a top dog tuner, but the price will never go down on that gear. And they look sooooo good together!!

    $1,000 for the pair in this economy is dreaming on his part ($500 or $600 is closer to the mark for a well documented reburbed pair), but like cnh said check with the Sansui gurus at AK, and see what they say. I always had a weakness for those 999's.
