I've read some good things about linaeum tweeters with silk diaphragm. Radio Shack also sold one with plastic.

Anyone tried one with there Polk speakers?

I had an old set of the Ratshack versions. OK, but I was not overly impressed by them...didn't seem much of an improvement over a regular set of tweeters....maybe it was just a problem with the RS crossovers or the cheaper mylar/plastic design.

The Ratshack were cheaper versions with plastic diaphragm instead of more airy silk one.
I would also consider Ribbon tweeters.

I had a set and agree, they were disappointing... the sound was a bit colored, instruments did not sound like what were supposed to sound like.

I've got an NIB pair of the omnidirectional R/S Linaeums (plastic radiator) in the basement. Bought 'em on closeout. My reaction to them was decidedly meh.

Now, the mid 1980s R/S 40-1375 planar tweeter (JVC OEM or knockoff) is a fine, fine sounding tweeter.

I always wanted to try a pair of the 360s on a different speaker and crossover than the Optimus or RCAs
