As a current Apple employee ("employee #1"), can't he pull some strings?

Maybe I'm not thinking straight but I'll be damned if I'm gonna sit outside a store all night for a phone.
Locals did it here. Be sure and be the first on your block to get one. What a bunch of morons, IMHO.

What a dumb narrow minded post...IMHO

Youre welcome to not want to stand in line, but calling people morons because they do is very narrow minded.

Then consider me narrow minded too.

I guess some people like the sitting in line experience, but if your sole intent of waiting in line is to be the first of your friends to have a new iphone, jokes on you buddy. I'd rather wait a few days and get mine in the mail off of pre-order.

No it's not. I'm not narrow minded, they are morons, plain and simple.

Yes, I wanted in line for about an hour to get mine.

From what I could gather based on my interaction with people, it wasn't about being the first one to get one, it was more about being excited about a product. From what I witnessed and what I've read, this is more of an 'event' than just a bunch of people standing in line quietly waiting to be the first cool guy with iPhone. It's a bunch of people excited about a product and that really is all. Calling someone a moron for being excited about a product is pathetic.

Would I have waited all night to get one? Absolutely not, but I'm not going to call someone else a moron because they're different than me, that just seems dumb to me.

Interesting discussion. Other than waiting overnight in line for food if I were starving to death, I could not see myself doing that. I hate waiting in line just to buy groceries! To each their own, but waiting overnight for a phone does seem to be a bit on the stupid side of the line.

I'm not here to present argument for people doing stupid things.
Do people do stupid for smart phones?
I think the users actions speak louder than words.

Would have been better if it were Bill Gates waiting in line for one.

Haha, there would be quite a sight. On the other hand, his wife did say that Bill prohibits anyone from entering his house with anything Apple.

That may be one of the silliest articles I've ever read. I'll bet the CEO of Intel doesn't use any AMD processors in his home either. Not sure why that would surprise anyone, or be news worthy.

    Hello,
This seems like a good opportunity to remind everyone who participates in Club Polk what the general rules are. You are not permitted to call another member a derogatory name, nor are you permitted to attack another member in any way in a posting. Nor is any form of profanity permitted, especially directed at another member. If you wish to use profanity in a nonthreatening way as part of general language, use substitute letters. Better yet, pick a different word.
If anyone accumulates five infractions or severely violates the member treatment rule they will be banned. If you have a doubt as to how a posting will be received (your idea of what's funny may not be everyone's) it is best to not post it.
    Ken

There seems to be a line drawn between 'insulting' someone or calling a group of people in general a derogatory name and and actually directly calling a member a derogatory name (or in my case accusing them of acting like one). I wasn't aware of that line and crossed it, sorry about that guys.
