REGARDS SNOW
Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

Sweet Jesus! dang, goosebumps all over me!!! He's got that Mick "Red" Hucknall soul with a rough Joe Cocker edge. He really took that song and made it his, bless him!

I haven't been watching the show, but I will be now.

Its always refreshing to see actual talent versus the the majority of pop stars that are the norm that in concert cant carry a tune.

I'm glad to see others support him. I heard him that first night and got goosebumps. I've listened to it a few times since then and still get them. Its always hard to tell on those shows, so I try not to pass judgment too quickly. I'm hoping if he gets a recording deal (I see NO reason why he won't) they won't ruin the talent on cruddy pop songs.
We can only hope thats the case, one of the things that make him a star IMHO is his ability to put himself into the song like some actors have the ability to become for the moment the person they are acting as.
