How To Test an Inductor to find it value

I reassembled my 12B crossovers from 3 different ones that had parts missing. I did not think to label the Inductors that I took off (the large ones from the bottom of the x-over). I tested both with an ohm meter and one read 6.5 ohms, the other 13.5. I am assuming the larger coil, with more wire, is the 13.5 ohm Inductor.
Is there a way to test an inductor to tell what it is? Sorry, I was an electronics technician but that was a long long time ago........

The most accurate way would be using a network analyzer. You can also build a fairly simple L-C tester, and or find a multimeter that has this feature. I think Fluke has some as well as some other Multi-meter manufacturers. Some one on the forums here may be able to point you to which of the coils goes where in your circuit from their experience with the same circuit. Good luck.If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?!

That's a bit rich for me to test two inductors...... Maybe I can find a local Electronics shop that can check them for me.Carver C-1, M-500 MKII, Yamaha HTR-5835, Polk RTA 12BM's (M-for mod'd).

That's why I borrowed a buddies. I am sure an electronics repair place would check them out for a nominal fee. -
Remember that two parameters are important, the inductance and the DC resistance.

yes there is the AC and DC values.
Find a repair shop, must them dudes are willing to help.
