Thinking of biting the bullet and dealing with the wife later on this amp. Think I can get a decent price on one. Going to power my RTi 12s with it.
Anyone drivin power hungry speakers with this amp? How'd it do?

I would make sure it is in good working order before hooking it up to your 12's.
It shouldn't even break a sweat running your speakers.
What are you gonna bump up the center with though? -
I have a 150wpc older Kenwood amp or I was just gonna let the AVR power the center (110wpc)

I am not a fan of mismatched power in the front speakers. I prefer them to all be the same at least and on the same amp optimal. It can just cause more issues later if the power or the sound of each amp is different as they would be in your instance.
Carver amps have there own sound as well as the sound you get from your AVR. -
I'm running the 1.5t with my LSi 25's and Dodd Audio tube preamp. It's golden! Way more than enough juice! Then again, my sub is internally powered, so i'm only powering the mids and tweeter. Still, it has plenty of juice to go around! No excuses!

I have a 1.5T powering my Lsi9's. It is a really strong amplifier that easily handles the 4 Ohm load of the Lsi9's. I used it with Rti10's also and it improved the bass nicely. The 1.5T would probably be a good match for Rti12's which are very large speakers that can benefit from more power despite being 8 Ohm.HT Setup: Onkyo 706; Rotel RB-1075; Rti A3; Csi A6; Fxi3's
2 CH: Squeezebox Touch; Dared SL-2000a; GoldenEar Triton 5 or Lsi9's; Parasound 2125; SVS SB12-NSD; Music Hall DAC 25.2
