Gone Fishin'

Today was one of those days that will be eternally committed to memory. I blew off a day of work and went fishing with my dad.

As a kid, from age 2 on up I spent a lot of time with my dad, working on our boat, going out as a family to Heart-Miller Island, and fishing. After I got married an had kids, life just started slipping by and it had been 8 years since I was on the boat. With the economy as it is, the boat has been up for sale and this may be the last trip. Even after so much time it all felt like a very natural place to be, with my dad, on the boat. We fished a few hours off Baltimore Light, didn't catch anything (the fish are just about gone from the upper Chesapeake this time of year), went up into Middle River for lunch and motored back up Back River. What a nice time with my dad and what a flood of memories going back 43 years.

It is sad to think that this may have been the last time I'll cruze the Chesapeake but it is a cherished memory.

    Sounds like you are from my neck o' the woods. Did you grow up in SE Baltimore Co ?
