Saw a pair of these this morning on my walk to campus. Not sure what they are as there were no labels on them. The other looked worse than this one. Just wondering because I find the driver placement interesting. Thanks

I will say Kabuki............http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Kabuki%20SpeakerHT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

While Kabuki is almost by definition correct for these :-) We may be able to be a tad more specific...
The configuration is similar to the decidedly meh Criterion VI sold by Lafayette. The drivers, however, are all wrong, so either someone's replaced them all (not bloody likely) or they're something else.
There was a popular semi-brand X speaker company in the 1970s called Synergistics. They also had some similary overpopulated front baffles... but overall I don't think these are Synergistics.
Other possibilities in the non-white-van/Kabuki category might include RtR and even (gasp) Rectilinear.
RtR example (taken from http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=161166)
Rectilinear example (taken from http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?191274-Repair-Old-Speakers[/url)
The drivers in the Rectilinear III above are actually some quite good ones (e.g., the Philips twincone being used as a midrange and the famous Peerless AlNiCo cone tweeters) -
thanks, they looked interesting when I walked by and was just curious.System:

They look homemade to me??Not an Audiophile, just a dude who loves music, and decent gear to hear it with.
