Hi All,

I've been an audio enthusiast for the longest time, but only now have decided to give my current system a major overhaul and can use some advice. I am considering the RTi A9s w/ the following setup:

Center: CS20
Surround: TSi200
Subwoofer: BIC America F12

As you can see, I'm trying to stay within the Polk family of speakers when it comes to the center and surrounds while being more budget-minded, but at the same time not cheaping out on weaker models. The CSi A6 looks to me on paper to be only marginally better than the CS20, so I'm not sure if it would be worth the extra hundred or so. The TSi200s look comparable to the FXi A6s and RTi A3s. I like the way they look better too. The Bic subwoofer seems to me a better value than any of the Polk options. I might consider the PL-200, but I am currently leaning towards the F12 for now. When I think of this longer, my combination is not too different from just upgrading the front speakers on your typical TSi 5.1 setup. Any thoughts? I'd mostly use it for movies, gaming, & music (rock, pop, & classical).

    Welcome to Club Polk!

I briefly had a CS20 with my Rti A7s before I realized that the front stage should be timbre matched. Once I swapped in the CSi A6, the front stage sounded seamless as all three speakers are of the same series (same drivers / tweeters, voicing). So I would suggest that if you're going to get Rti A series speakers in the front, you do it for all 3.

For surrounds, you can keep the TSi200s as timbre / voice matching doesn't matter so much.
ALL BOXED UP for a while until I save up for a new place :(

One consideration toward the center would be the CSi5. It's matched for the RTi12's. That should be a timbre match and cost less.
