It's HOCKEY Time!!!!!:loneranger:

Does AARP know Jagr is back playing hockey again?
The NHL, as classy as they are, are still relying on the current NHL Video Game to pick this seasons champ.
The Penguins............If Crosby comes back and is 100%, it's very possible.

There were a lot of big moves during the off season. I still think there is no hope for the Oilers, Leafs, or Islanders. At least not this year. I didn't read about any earth shattering trades happen for them.

Happy Pucking

All that matters is the Jets! :D

Quite happy to have our rightful hockey team back! Sunday is going to be a gong show in our city for the first season opener.

Go Pens!! Hopefully we don't lose the two best players in the game within 5 days again!!

On a side note, I've read recently about the NHL is looking into fighting and how it affects concussions.I know nothing will come from this, but I for one think fighting should have no part whatsoever. I feel it makes the game fake and shows the complete lack of respect the players have towards eachother (and in a way the game and fans of HOCKEY). If we enjoy the game in general, we shouldn't need a sideshow that has no effect on the game. But that just me, I was curious what any of your thoughts are about it(if any care)..

I was laughing as i watched the Bruins/Flyers game last night. They kept talking about how you guys have been partying for a couple of days now getting ready for your first opener in 20 something years.

If Jumbo shows up to play, the sharks would definitely be a contender but he falls flat on his face every year. Boy do us Boston fans miss him...of maybe that's just me

As far as fighting, i don't think you'll see it go anywhere any time soon. It's been part of the game since the original 6. Fighting sells tickets and people love it. There are very few knockouts and concussions as a result of fighting therefore B. Shannahan will overlook it. Now if the likes of Shawn Thornton, George Parros, Chris Neil, Derik Engelland, and Colton Orr start caving peoples faces in causing concussions left and right, then it will be revisited, suspensions and fines will be enforced. Until then, it's all show.

Actually, it's been 15 years. The original Jets left for Phoenix in 1996. We have been partying since May 31 when the official announcement came that a team was purchased destined for here. From street hockey to drinking beer in the middle of the busiest intersection... you have no idea how crazy this city is for its hockey team.

Didn't watch the party or attend. It was the NHL's party though with their musical guests. Personally I would have gone to see Three Days Grace since BTO isn't BTO anymore. :( The "real" non-NHL party happens Sunday.
