Pure Direct Mode as I understand it, forces the AVR to run totally dependent on the source's DAC conversion. I actually prefer the Wolfson DAC internal to my Pioneer' processing the conversion for most everything I'm listening to at the moment. That could be due to my ignorance of stand alone DAC's. For my sources, I'm running a Squeezbox Touch for music and a Panasonic DMP BD85 Bluray player. I have noticed the Blu Ray version of David Gilmour's "Remember that Night" in Pure Direct Mode is phenomenal. Also, the AVR's volume control must be turned up in this mode to get the best of it, so be careful toggling from it to "stereo" etc... believe me, that'll wake you up real quick.Pioneer Elite SC-35, Polk RTA (Real Time Array) 12's,

Thanks for the explanation. That makes more sense.EndersShadow wrote: »Drenis: I sent you a PM with my phone number. Give me a call after 5:30 eastern time as its easier to discuss via phone.

Ah it's just a long distance call over the border. I think it costs me 35 cents a minute (Little pricey cause we use our mobile phones instead of landlines up here, much cheaper).
