Help with Speakers
I am look at new speakers...I currently have the RM7600 with a psw650. I was thinking about LSiC center, 2 LSi9 for the fronts, and 4 LSiFX for the suurrounds. I use a Onkyo TX-SR800 receiver, and a DV-SP800 DVD player. Will the LSi line of speakers be a good match?

Your speaker choice is excellant, although you might want to consider 2 Lsi7's for the rear channels instead of the Fx's. As far as your receiver is concerned, depends on the amp section. keep in mind that the Lsi's are rated at 4 ohms nominal and your receiver really should be rated to handle that type of load. Under-powering a speaker can do far more damage than having too much power. Consider adding an external amp or upgrading your receiver if needed.

I would say no, they are 4 ohms and the Onkyo is 6 ohms at best, get separates or an external multi channel amp if you like the Lsi's.. or just get a nice set of Rti's .... Right now they are running 40-60% off to get ready for the new line..
I just got a set of Rti150's for what was like 69.5% off LOL almost 70 percent off!!!MY HT RIG:

Great choice in speakers, but all those LSi's will kill the Onkyo. I agree with the two gentlemen, external amps and LSi7's for one set of rear surrounds.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

What multi channel amp would you recommend...I really don't know much about them.

I spoke to Onkyo a few weeks ago about using my receiver (TS-DS696) to push the LSi speakers which are 4 ohms. The tech support specialist (I love that title) told me that the receiver can push 4 ohm speakers at low volume, but once you turn it up to watch a movie it can damage the receiver. Not to mention he was afraid the difference in impedance rating (even at low volume) could damage my speakers as well. Bottom line he said not to use ANY Onkyo receiver to push 4 ohm speakers.Mains: Polk RTi70's

It sounds like I would be better off going with 2 RTi150, 1 CSi40, and 4 FXi50 for the surrounds or 2 Fxi50 and 2 RTi28. Any suggestions?

Get the Lsi's and an Outlaw 7100 amp. I've got one and it does a great job driving my Lsi's!!
