I have a folder with Excel files. I right clicked on folder and selected search.
Then the search menu comes up, make sure the location is your excel folder with the files you want to seach.
Then put your key word you are searching for in the search bar next to the location.
I am using office 2007, YMMV.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing.
I'm on win7 with office 2010. I dont remember having this issue with XP, but I could be wrong.
I'm in 'My Computer' with a folder full of excel files. If I right click that folder, no 'search' option is available. If I open that folder and use the search bar at the top right, it ONLY searches titles, not content
