How difficult is it to put a cable line into my room?

Is it pretty easy or should I just pay my cable provider the $32 to do it?

It depends on the room. $32.00 is pretty cheap so I am guessing he just runs a line through the floor or a wall and connects to the box. I doubt you will get a faceplate installed for that cheap.

I did all the cable runs in my home.

go measure how many ft of cable you would need and see how much you would save by doing it.. 32 bucks is pretty cheap

Well the reason why it is cheap is because of how they run it. Most cable companies or satellite installers just run it on the out side of the house then drill a hole clear through the wall. It is a half a$$ job. I would be really mad if they ran it that way in my house. Nothing like punching holes through the exterior walls instead or fishing it inside.

Agree completely. They put a hole straight through my friend's hardwoods without even asking- total a--hole move. If it's on the first floor and you have a basement (with open joists) or a crawlspace, it's easy and takes 10 minutes. Things get incrementally harder, but with some effort and fish tape you can run wires anywhere.

I feel like Polk had a PDF with some pointers?
