New Project: Infinity QLS1

Not sure what got in to me in the past couple of weeks, but last weekend I bought a set of SDA 2 and some RT25i (for surround), and then this weekend, I just couldn't pass up a set of parted out Infinity QLS1's. All the drivers are gone. cabinets are in solid shape, with one bubbled area in the laminate on the face, and a few nicks and dings. Looks like varnish or some other sealer was applied.
Have already acquired the necessary EMITs, mid bass couplers, several of the dome mid range, and will likely add new Watkins 12" woofers, but have to clean up the cabinets, and while I have them apart, will likely rebuild the crossovers, and maybe replace the factory wiring...it appears to be 20 or 22 guage.
The dome midranges are an interesting challenge. The tinsel connections to the voice coils were originally covered in wax to protect them, but over the years (built from 1977-1982), the wax becomes brittle, and the connections break. Found some information on how to fix online, and opened one up, seems to be simple, though probably tedious.
Any experience on here bringing vintage infinities back to life? Any pointers would be great.

From a vintage Infinity fan, I wish you good luck on these. I hope you will keep this thread alive and post your progress; I would be very interested to see how it turns out.

I will do my best to document my progress on them.
To date, no work done, but I have acquired all of the drivers, just waiting for them to arrive.
16 Emits (already have 8), so have some extras, just in case.
2 BRAND NEW Rear Emits
14 NOS 1.5" Dome Midranges (for the price I got these, not worth fixing broken ones!)
3 Used Philips AD5060/W8 Midbass (from B&O S60/S75), apparently the same as what was in QLS1 (1 extra)
2 New Watkins Dual Drive 12"
Now to pull out the crossovers and see if I have the brain/steady hand to rebuild them!
Will put up some pictures once I start getting stuff in and going to work on the cabinets/xovers.
