With all these upgraded Power Cords going around with low guage like 12,10,8 etc and higher voltage ability, should a person be careful what components they use them on. I know a lot of times these cords will be used on Amps and Preamps etc.....but is it ok to use them on a CD Player and lets say a Pioneer SC-35 Receiver. Both my CD Player and SC-35 came with the same stock cords which are 18 awg and 10A. Is it possible to wear out some Internal Components prematurly with these upgraded power cords ? Or are they safe all around ?

A better, thicker, higher-voltage-capable power cable is more safe to use than a bad, thinner, lower-voltage-capable one.
    2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

Living Room: PC > Marantz AV-7703 > Emotiva XPA-5 > Sonus Faber Liuto Towers, Sonus Faber Liuto Center, Sonus Faber Liuto Bookshelves > Dual SVS PC12-Pluses

    Office: Phone/Tablet > AudioEngine B1 > McIntosh D100 > Bryston 4B-ST > Polk Audio LSiM-703's

After market power cables can possibly benefit any component from the source to the amp. (TV, DAC, CDP, Preamps, Amp, ect.) Your concerns with undertaking a power cable change should be two fold. 1) Is the cable adequate for the piece as far as the amperage draw (mostly a concern for amplifiers) and/or 2) does it have a synergy in that position that I find to improve my system. Certain cables, though adequate in size and capacity, may not have any synergy in that position (or any position) in your system. Some experimentation will be required if you decide to go down this road.
