Took the day off to replace my blown antenna preamp with new winegard AP 8275.

I use a 6065P FM antenna.

Wow - what a difference...worth every cent. 28db VHF...using a stock Yamaha t80, I am picking up some stations in Albany, 70 miles away, with little to no noise, that I never considered before. The signal is very clear, with no edge.

I thought that HD radio was the answer, (The Sony got zapped a month ago) but now I know that a good FM signal delivered properly to a good tuner is simply the better of the 2...I listened to the radio for 2 hours today in my chair -- actually listening, and there was no fatigue..one college station WVCR, in particular uses little to no compression, and they play CD's, not MP3's..

a great day off !
