Does my PSW505 setup seem OK?

Hi,
still fairly new to audio terminology. anyway have been lurking quite a bit and spending way too much time on Google.
I have a HK3490 paired with Monitor 70's and a PSW505. I'm not sure that I have the optimum settings for the subwoofer. Currently I have the SW connected by a single RCA SW cable from the top SW out on the HK3490 (the lower one doesn't seem to output a signal), cable connected to the top (R) filtered RCA input on the PSW505.
As the HK3490 is a stereo receiver I assumed that it doesn't output LFE signal, no didn't use that input. Also have the Low Pass dial set to about 75-80 Hz which I read somewhere was a good setting when paired with the M70's.
Phase set to zero (the default).
My main questions:
1. Should I use the LFE input or are my assumptions about the HK3490 receiver output accurate?
2. Would using a Y splitter on the SW cable and input to both R and L terminals have any benefits?
3. If splitter not an advantage, does it matter whether I input to the L or R input on the SW?
As you can tell I'm still getting up to speed on the whole audio subject but am absorbing as much info as I can to try and get up to speed.
Thank you! Thank you!
