Bad Vibrations?
Can you set a television on top of the center channel ( with felt between the TV base and speaker ) without doing the TV any harm?

Without any details, i'm pretty sure I can safely say that's a bad idea.

I've done that for extended periods of time with no issue.

Depends on how big the center is. I wouldn't advise it myself though...

I wouldn't place my plasma 50" TV on a speaker but I do use it to warm up my small HT room in the AM

Ok, I was hoping that the speaker vibrations would not destroy the circuit boards in the TV.
I have very limited space and wall mounting is not an option at this time.
The TV is only a 32 inch LCD, not too heavy.
Since the speakers are shielded I thought that should be fine.
Which brings me to another question.
Do magnetic fields affect LCD screens in the same manor it does regular TV's? -
