I have a simple question, aren't they all simple. Which method of setting my speaker levels should I use? When I use the white noise coming from my receiver everything sounds equal after making the appropriate changes. If I use the THX optimizer the speakers don't even sound close. Does anybody have any idea which setting I should go with? I was considering getting the AVIA DVD, but is it really going to give me much more? Any help would be great.

go with what sounds best to you, be it THX or whatever. I like the way mine are set and I could care less, really, if they conform to anyone's standards....

I also have been curious about one of those calibration discs, if you get it let us know what you think.

    Hi:

I have the Avia DVD and it is really useful. I would get it if I were you. It is almost a necessity in order to set up your system correctly.

i used the avia disk to set up my speakers. it is amazingly helpful. you can use the test signals with an SPL meter and get all the tones accurate. i find that your ears will still hear things a little differently than any meter though, and you will need to just a little more tweaking to get the sound to it's best. let your ears be the final deciding factor. if it sounds great to you, let it be. the avia disc is a great starting point for getting your sound very close to perfect.
