I saw some EPI Time/Energy Monitor 1 Speakers on CL.... What do you think? Would they rock my garage?
Here's some info on them:

I would give them a fair shake in the house, just for giggles.

I've got a pair of M50's that sound absolutely lovely. I had them at PF '10, and several people were quite surprised at the quality of sound coming from them (I think mostly because they're ugly as sin).

PS- Humanspeakers.com is a great resource... he's got equivalents of almost all the drivers available, even for my M50's.
    Ludicrous gibs!

Thanks. It's good to hear that they may at least be listenable. I have no need for them in the house, but basically, I'm looking to fill a space in the garage, and these would fit the bill (size-wise). I was looking for some Klipsch KG 4.2s, which I'm assuming might be a better speaker, but they'll probably run me a bit more.

1987 is close to the time that EPI starts to go down the drain. But these may be on the good side of the cusp. Don't know.

I have a set of early bookshelves (EPI 100Vs) that can pretty much compete with most of their competitors in that time period. A nice set.

A friend has some EPI T/E 360s that can not only rock your garage but would make fabulous primary speakers for a two channel system. Among the best I've heard from the mid '80s. A real sleeper.

But 'neither' of these uses a 'horn' which is what your speakers have? They use various versions of the famous Air Spring inverted or the latter dome tweeter. Great highs. IMHO.

Here's a link for your speakers. They look big and loud enough!

Sorry. I'm spacing out this morning! More coffee is in order.

In any case. If I could find the T/E 360s in good shape, they'd be mine tomorrow. Your units may also be quite good.

    Keep us posted!
