I have a psw 110 sub and was thinking of going to a dsw400 or maybe the 1000 micro sub. What noticable differences would there be and would it be worth the change in subs. I have rti a1 fr csia4 cr fxi3 rear and m10 for the sides. Iv been using information here to help in tuning it in and sounds pretty good but the sub seems to sound a little garbled or muddy on the lows. I dont know if these subs would be a little to much for my speakers or not or how much clearer they may be. Thanks

You will notice a significant improvement going to the DSW or Micro-Pro line. I went from the 110 to a BIC PL200 and it was a huge improvement.
I have a DSW-Pro 500 in the house as well. I swapped it out with the PL-200 to see how things sounded and the DSW didn't have the output of the PL-200 for HT, but was better with music.
You also don't need to stick with Polk for your sub. Pick a price range you're comfortable with and go from there. Once you choose a sub, be sure to do the "sub crawl" then run the calibration of your receiver (if you have it). -
I would look at the wireless dsw pro's over the regular dsw pro's. They have a larger built in amplifier. New egg was running a killer sale on them a couple weeks ago. The DSW Pro 660 WI was around $329.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808

Your right the wireless pro does put out more. Im kind of looking more in favor of the 550 it puts out 400 continous 800 peak. They look the same as the micro pro.ht rm.:loneranger:

The micro pro has a 1000w constant rating. It also has a passive bass radiator in the bottom. It is a speaker with out a magnet or any electrical connections. The cabnet is sealed and when the main driver moves it causes pos, and neg air pressure in side the enclosure. That is what causes the passive radiator to move.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808

I bought the 550 on sunday from new egg. The next day it went back up in price. Glad I bought it i recieved it yestersy got it hooked up and it sounds great. I set the crossover at 90. quite a bit of difference in that my psw110 sounded a little boomy. made the whole settup sound as it should when listening to music very clear and smooth bass line. Definatly this is the sub you need to start with with the rta1 series speakers it brings out the best. You really see a difference in ht. i watch the incredible hulk just to see how it would sound I think the whole house went kaboom.ht rm.:loneranger:

Glad you got it on sale. It is a really nice sub for the cash when on sale. I bought one on sunday too. The upgrade bug was killing me. I went from a DSW Pro550WI to the 660WI. It has a little more impact feeling, and plays slightly lower.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808
