Agreed. But just for the record (no pun intended), I love this forum! I'm active no where else (get your mind out of the gutter) and really appreciate the knowledge (and entertainment) around here. Their will always be people trying to stir up trouble, but let's not miss the opportunity to work with someone who "just doesn't know" yet and is a little rough around the edges, like myself or Xcapri (people can change!)

Cool, no hard feelings of course. I totally respect you just so you know. You're one of those guys I'll always butt my head with, but remain good friends (forum friends for now ) with for some reason.

Joe, please oh please I didn't mean to offend you, a royal member of the crowd and I could only offer up a prayer in hopes that you all don't turn on me! What would I do! I have a family!

Trust me I am not royalty. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I was going to say something else but honestly arguing over xcapri isn't worth the effort.

How about we all enjoy the tunes and call it a day?

This has been a very long, busy week and I plan to go home, fire up the rig, warm up the tubes and get my listen on with glasses of my favorite spirit.

So yea, I'm up for that

..some modern tube gear suffers greatly in comparison to SS in regards to objective measures like THD and S/N .(because it's inherent in the simple single ended topologies used in the majority of tubed preamp's etc.) . Of course we all know good measurement's do not a great preamp/amp make but there are many that prefer the hard, sterile, clinical SS (or as I like to call it neutral) sound.
+1. Dont own any tube gear right now... ...it wouldn't survive my zoo!! I favor [tubes] especially where I find it shines... ...mids/highs when listening. Or guitars when playing.

I'd hate to see this thread deteriorate to the mud slinging I saw in two threads over @ diyaudio.com

one on speaker wire & ICs. Nearly 15K posts before the moderators closed it!

the other: CDs versus vinyl*. one camp mostly touted measurements; the other musicallity. I remember tubes/SS parallels, too *BTW I own many of both.

to the OP: you "sound" VERY pleased*! don't let anyone steal that.
    * reminds me of a passage from a short letter from Paul to one of the early churches about 2000 years ago

    cheers tony

I'm looking forward to the day the XSP-1 comes out.
It is supposed to be a "must have" for a two channel preamp.

    +1 on that!
