My visit to John Deere - Thanks Sherardp!

First off, I would like to thank Sherardp here for getting me in on an AWESOME tour of the John Deere plant over in Moline/Davenport/Dubuque, Iowa. Obviously there are some pics that I can't post due to security clearances, but the following are a taste of what I got to see over at the John Deere manufacturing and Engineering plant. The plant exceeded my expectations and as an Electrical Engineer, I was fascinated with the complexity of their control systems and amount of high-tech electronics used in their excavators, bulldozers, and other machines.

    On your second day, we're you right across from 'the Mark'? Looks like a great day to be in IA, I do miss home sometimes still, and seeing photos of places I reconize stirs that up. Now hurry up and send me photos of six feet of snow, so I get out of that homesickness out of my head!!

    Son who covers JD for his firm has been there many times and its one of his fav tours along with CAT and Boeing......great pics...

    I absolutely love the plant, it was an engineering marvel and very sophisticated!

    Very nice pics bro, and actually glad you made it out. I tried my hardest to see if they would get you in on a demo, and actually let you operate some of the equipment. Hopefully if you visit again, I can make that happen for you.

    Awesome, I will definitely go back to the Quad Cities because it is so nice over there! When I head out I will let you know. Again, thanks Sherard for everything and I really appreciate it - had such a great time and enjoyed the trip. Expect a little gift in the mail, I'll send it out as soon as it gets here.
