I'm all about car audio, know nothing about home audio so will ask here first.
There's a local guy selling items below on Craigslist for $500. I checked out msrp which comes out to like 4x his asking price..... Is this set up any good? What else will i need to make it "sing"?
Where do these speakers stand in Polk's line up?
2 - RTi 100 Tower's with built-in power sub woofers
2 - FX 500i Rear Dipole/Bipole surrounds
1 - CX 400i Center channel

Nice timbre matched setup but i think 500 might be a little high. I would say more around 350-400. Look for a receiver with at least 100+ wpc.Music doesn't lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music.

That's a great center channel that usually brings about 125-150 on ebay, so figure a little less on craigslist. The towers I would put at about $200-250 max, and the surrounds about the same as the center, maybe a tad more. I would definitely haggle with him. That will be a really fun HT setup. Note, however, that the mains have a different tweeter than the center. First instantiation of the silk/polymer tweet. I myself prefer the older tri-lam tweet that the cs400i has. You may or may not notice the difference, depending on how close you listen and whether or not your a gamer or listen to lots of music in surround. With movies I wouldn't think it would be as big a deal.Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

Was that supposed to be CS 400i ? If so, I own that one and am using it now. Love it. Also have the dipole/bipole fx3. You will love those as well. Not familiar with the towers.
Is 500 what he is asking? If so, I am sure you can get him to come down a bit.
