No wooden case, this one gets 8.5 out of ten. No scratches on fascia, one or two tiny nicks on top portion of faceplate that are much smaller than the normal nicks out of the top of a Marantz faceplate. The ones that look a little "shinier" than the faceplate (cause they are!). You have to get right on top in order to see these. Black case is just about perfect. FM antenna on nice and tight. Not a single bulb works on this thing, dark as night, but I believe they're cheap and easy to replace. Other than the bulb thing, it's a honey. 38 or 40 wpc ("but they're REAL Marantz watts man" whatever that's supposed to mean).

Killer price for a Marantz. Take a look at how much these things are selling for on ebay! I know because I recently picked up a 2265. Too bad I didn't wait on this one.
If you're into vintage gear you should take a look at one of these, if for no other reason than to get your audio history on. They sound good too!
Hope someone local sees this...shipping (yeah that's another huge cost), save yourself the time, worry, expense and just go visit George!

Out of academic curiosity: Is that the silver dial morph or the earlier blackout dial morph, George (realizing full well that, sans lamps, it's all dark, all the time?
EDIT: Upon reflection, I assume that this is a moronic question and that the item in question is of the blackout kind... -
Silver numeric dial fascia in the FM section. You confused yourself enough yet?

For people confused by which model this is.

Yup, that's the later one (ca. 1978). Nice looking piece of hardware in that Marantz way.

Thank you for that beautiful image. It is indeed the model I have.
