First bike I've owned in ten years or so, I'd been shopping the used market, but broke down today and bought new. I think I'm happy, but I'll know more once I'm able to get a good ride in after work today! Woo!

Congrats on the new bike. My son, who own a Mountain bike, wants me to purchase one next year. It has been a lot more than 10 years since I have even been on a bike. Looking at a Rocky Mountain. Those things are not cheap.

Cool looking bike. Have you taken a 29er on any trails yet? They ride quite a bit different than standard 26" wheels. I demo'd a 29er last year and really liked the way it was able to roll over larger obstacles and maintain momentum. The overall ride quality was better for me also. Serious riders debate differences in wheel size but being a tall rider the bigger wheels feel much more natural. I bought a 29er because of this, hopefully you benefit also.

    Enjoy the ride
    HT Setup: Onkyo 706; Rotel RB-1075; Rti A3; Csi A6; Fxi3's

2 CH: Squeezebox Touch; Dared SL-2000a; GoldenEar Triton 5 or Lsi9's; Parasound 2125; SVS SB12-NSD; Music Hall DAC 25.2

I haven't done any trail riding, in a loooong time. Everything I've seen about these are good, and the guys at the bike shop seemed to be in love with them. I talked to them about some more expensive bikes, but they led me straight back to this one, even though it was on closeout. I hope I've made a good choice, but the 15 minutes or so I had on it today it really seemed to be a slick ride.
