This is a copy of Nelson Pass' Zen amplifier that was commercially sold for just a short time before the amp got pulled for copy right reasons. It uses the upgraded Zen circuit, and is the best sounding SS amp I've owned at only 15wpc. I recently checked and tighten up all the connection and it's running great and sounding even better. It had a hum when I first got it, but fixed that by tightening up the connections on some caps, and ensuring proper grounds. On my last listening session I temped the fins at 155 degrees; nice and hot for a two MOSFETs per channel class A design. This amp sounds fantastic with my Klipsch horn speakers, but sounds great on any moderate sensitivity speakers. I don't have the original box for it, but I can pack it well for someone who wants it shipped; but local pick-up would be preferred. $400 paypal'ed and shipped.

It is 1 20wpc class A according to the reviews I found on line. Always wanted to try a class A, but that will need to wait for my tube amps to be completed.

Really? First time I've seen it....been MIA from the forum these past few weeks.

Spent $1.5k+ last week on my car too, would've bought this amp instead to keep me in the house

Heard a SET amp (not this one in particular) with Fostex rear-loaded speakers and it was to die for.

That is a pretty cool piece of hardware. Note that it is not a "SET" per se as a transistor is not a triode (even though it effectively has three elements, EBC, not unlike a triode) :-P

Nelson Pass described the design as "single ended transistor". It does have a very natural sound, and it is amazing how good simple designs sound; whether tubes or transistors.

I am in no position to argue with Nelson Pass... who does know good sound and how to extract it from components.

The Aleph 3 and 30 are even better.

GLWTS, If I had even the slightest use for this, I'd probably pick it up for fun but I have 3 integrated tube amps that barely get any love and need to be rotated in and out to get any use

John, your post is unclear??? This is not 120wpc single ended class A, good god that would be as big as the Pass Labs XA60 chassis.

15wpc, single ended class A sounds right. The Alpeh 3/30 is 30 wpc single ended class A and is about twice the size and heatsink as this.

    Make that GDS since it's a Mosfet.

And if the rail voltages are the same as the ZEN then 15 watts is a little optimistic, more like 10 ish.

You could be right Fred. Specs quote 20wpc, but no matter what, it's a great sounding amp that can drive most speakers.

Sorry Jake I in no way meant to diminish the amp,and agree that if it sounds like the Zen (which it should)it will be a very sweet and musical sounding amplifier.

No worries Fred as I only assumed the best. Thanks for the kind words about the amp, and I hope this will stir up a little more interested in this beauty:

grrr I would love to try this but seeing none of my speakers would do well with that little power won't work. Someday when I get into more eff speakers lol. GLWTS it looks like an amazing piece.

The amp is really only limited in low impedance speakers; electrostatics, panels, etc. Low sensitivity is not much of an issue especially if you have a well paired preamp. 4 ohms is safely the lowest nominal impedance for this amp as long as the speaker doesn't have low dips.

I tried driving my speakers with a 15wpc tube amp and now Pioneer SC-27. FWIW the tube amp sounded better in every way and I didn't feel like I'm missing anything (dynamics, spl, etc)

Very true. The best amp I've ever used was my 9wpc 300B amp. Topology and build quality have far more to do with sound quality than power.
