Greetings!

Every year since I joined the Forum six years ago. I have posted some pictures of my garden. So much talk recently about hurricanes, floods in the Northeast, wildfires in Texas and Fall is rapidly setting up here in the Northeast. I wanted to share some photo's with you and lighten the mood a little bit.

My gardening is limited to flowers. I don't grwon anything to eat. Those of you who share an interest in gardening know what a laobr of love that it can be and the satisfaction gained from growing plants in the Spring to see their beauty in the Summer and Fall. I hope that you will enjoy some of my photos. Please post pictures of your own garden.

Very nice spread there Carl! It's hard to get things like that out here in the desert. My morning glory's were out this morning after the big storms last night, shh! Illegal in Az don't turn me in to the plant police. I have a night blooming cereus, but it didn't bloom this year :frown:
My 20ft pickly pear tree and blue agave (tequila in a couple more years ) storm damage from the last big storms, the neighbors still haven't fixed yet, Grrrrrr!

While I am not into flowers I am into Palms. I have 15+ species now with more on the way. From the basic Kings and Queens to Fishtail, Fantail, Flame Throwers, too Foxtail, bamboo, date and so on. Oh, and I also like the entrance to the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland so I thought I'd add a bit of that in too.

All the lantern's have low-voltage lights inside and there is also lights around the yard so the it really lights up the entire backyard nicely. I also have that old west style flume waterfall which adds some really nice and relaxing sounds and speakers throughout the yard for went I play my jungle sound cd's. The Tiki Hut also has a table top fire pit that runs off those coleman type fuel cans and Tiki Torches throughout the yard as well. The pool you see in some of the pics will be gone soon, it was just a summer thing for the kids.

That is some amazing photos! People ask me out of curiosity where I would go on vacation, and I think I just saw the answer. Nice!

If you like to add the jungle type music for effect, check out:

    freesound.org

It's a free website with bin-aural recordings people make and share freely as long as you don't commercialize and sell it. It's like freeware or shareware. There is everything on there, from a balcony in Havana, to forests, rain forests, beaches, parties, sound effects, movie sounds, all kinds of stuff. I downloaded a lot of the rain forest and forest sounds, as well as a host of bird sounds. These are natural recordings, so sometimes you hear planes and random things in the background, but it sounds better and more natural than a CD from a store.

I play these through my outdoor speakers, and it actually attracts birds. When the pigeons get bad, I play the owl sounds, and it keeps them from hanging out too long.

But nice yards, I'm more than impressed, I'm floored!

Sure, that's sedum. When I was more active with model railroading I would use the dried stem to make n-scale trees.
