I just picked up a set of SDA 2, which look just like the ones on the Vintage Speaker pages (link below). It says they were made in 1984-1985, but the 6501 drivers have 1986 listed on the back of them. Any thoughts on this?

Heck, while I am asking, the cabinets have a couple of scratches, and some discoloring where the prior owner had the interconnect sitting on top of them (wrapped in duct tape). I cleaned of the glue residue with a mild solution of murphy's oil soap and water, but the damage had been done.

Would it be feasible to re-finish them, or more likely re-laminate them is what it looks like.

Just found your post. I have these speakers. Purchase them in 1990. I need to work on them. The tweeters are out. I will replace them and check the fuses. Mine too have the rosewood plastic laminate. I'm planning on doing a maple veneer job on them at some point too. Great sound with a high powered amp.

Warranty replacements??? Original drivers popped, Polk supplied new drivers that were manufactured a year later???

That's what happened with tweeters on my 1Bs.
