I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this question. It seems to be a Vintage sub so I thought I would try here first. If I need to post elsewhere please let me know.
Aside from my other projects I have been in need of a good sub for my HT set up. I have not been searching for one but just dealing with what I have. however i have a guy that has offered me a Sound Dynamics Asub-12. I can not find any info on it. I am not in a hurry but if it is a good sub at a good price I may want to consider it. Thanks for the help and sorry if I'm in the wrong place.

If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?!

I am not familiar with that model. But I have a SD TLS-12 sub, think that's the model, and it is a pretty awesome sub. Bought it around 1998 or so. SD was made by the same company that makes Mirage and Energy speakers in Canada. Not sure but I think API is the parent company.
What kind of money are you talking about? Have you heard this sub?--Gary--
Onkyo Integra M504, Bottlehead Foreplay III, Denon SACD, Thiel CS2.3, NHT VT-2, VT-3 and Evolution T6, Infinity RSIIIa, SDA1C and a few dozen other speakers around the house I change in and out. -

Yes - Energy, Sound Dynamics, Mirage and I believe Athena were all owned by API at one point until Klipsch bought them and shut down Sound Dynamics.
I have heard some Sound Dynamics (when owned by API) floorstanders and they were pretty impressive. Not as impressive as the earlier Mirage M-si, or earlier OM series, but used the same 6-1/2 drivers as the earlier OM series.
I would put SD up there with Mirage and Energy.....2 Channel Basement Setup:
PC With M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 Card
Rotel RC-1070
Rotel RB-1090
Polk Audio SDA SRS 1.2TL (1991) w/RD0-198 Tweeters.
