Copper jackets on cables?

I was browsing around and came across a video claiming that putting a copper jacket over certain parts of cables eliminates magnetic leaks. I am a believer in audio tweaks but have never heard of this one. Anyone here ever do this, and if so, did it make a difference? Ever tried that little device he is using on your own system? Here is a link to the video where I saw it. Goto about 1:28 in the video and this is where they guy starts showing you what I am talking about. You have to watch the video to see what I mean exactly.

No wonder my speakers have been sounding flat lately. All the magnetism leaked out of my cables.

Everything does matter imo. The chain is only as strong as the weakest link. Thought maybe some here have tried this. Never know till you ask. I would be scared to death to buy one of those magnetic detectors and use it on my setup. I would probably pull in the driveway and it would start going off even before I got into the house, lol. I cannot see how what he does makes that much of a difference if at all really. Curious more than anything.

How about that very last suggestion he makes--that allowing the player to read the CD/SACD twice (see how he ejects/reloads it?) will improve sound. What's that about?

I find myself having to read paragraphs twice before I get the meaning especially when reading Poe. If your CD player is old like me it may not understand Stravinsky during the first reading. The Rite of Springs a ****.

Guess none here have tried this guys approach. Just wondering since I know there is shielding on lots of various audio releated products we all use.

I can't quite figure our what his Philips testing device is. He calls it a "magnetic source finder device".

Shielding the power cord may do something, like he said the cord itself was shielded but the connection wasn't.

The only thing the chassis ground does is give noise a path away from the unit. I ground all my equipment to each other and then to ground. It cuts back on interference especially when there are fluorescent lights in and around the system. Works great for Tube equipment.

The read a cd twice thing seems pretty far fetched IMHO.

An anomaly I noticed in the video is that the demonstrater says "copper", but the fittings used look more like they are made out of brass/bronze. I guess any good conductor would work.
