A very cool piece Made from 1977 to 1981 for JC Penny for their MCS line by NEC. It is identical to the NEC AUA 8000. Built like a tank. Dual mono design with very nice layout and high quality parts. Has a warm sound. It is 65 watts per channel with 2 phono , 2 tape, aux, tuner, preamp in and out. Works perfectly and is in great shape a 8 out 10. There is a slight amoubnt of discoloration on the vents as seen from behind. The only flaw is the power meter do not work but they come up on Ebay. Has been set for use with a detachable power cord and the A speakers will accept banana plugs , spades, or wire. They hold thier value well. priced below book . Asking $120 Thanks,Keith

It seems to have been upgraded. The power connections were corded originally. I know since I owned one of these back in 90-91.
Very nice unit. They have that Silver Faced Pioneer type sound. Warm tube like feel to the music through this and the Phono stage is nothing to sneeze at.
