So I get home from work today and asked my wife how her day was, and she told me That it went fine but she came to a realization today. She said (and I paraphrase because I'm still in shock) she's been selfish for not wanting to work more hours than she has, understood I probably don't like working 40 hrs in the heat all day either, told me she asked for more hours at work, and apologized for her being selfish.

I'm waiting for something bad to happen.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

    I figured it all out.

It has to do with money, or lack of it right now, because she's spending too much. Now she's figured out she needs to work more like full time than part time if she wants to support her hobby and not have to tell me we're short on cash.

What I'm not going to tell her is I sort of caused this revelation of hers by starting to contribute again to the 401k (I dropped that when she got laid off last year).

I've wanted her to start working more for a while now, so I guess this a win win for me.

It's a really a woman's soft way of saying, " stop spending money on your stereo habits, or I'll have to work more hours, and then you'll be sorry if that happens. "

tread lightly, but if she makes more money then you have more money to have in the stereo funds.

Beading.... She makes bead jewelery of all things.

She works ( and occasionally teaches classes) at a bead store. To her credit, she's been designing a project she can teach classes on, but it's not a cheap project, and she's made several of these things. She's going to start teaching classes on this, and she can make some bucks on those classes.

But, the bottom line is she's felt like she should be semi-retired for a while now, and she just figured out it's not working for us.

It really hasn't been working out well for my two hobbies.

Dear Tossing and Turning in Tucson,

I myself would peruse the newspaper want ads. She may not be trying hard enough for those extra hours, and you just might stumble upon a little something she can do for a few hours when she'd normally be idle. Hang in there.
