Imports vs. domestics

I ordered a cd from Amazon and it ships from the UK, so I'm guessing it's a UK pressing. Do imports sound better than domestic releases? I'm pretty sure most imports from Japan are supposed to sound better than ones from here, right?
What about the ones from the UK?

    To my ears....the imports sound better and are more likely to have bonus cuts...I like to go for the UK imports on Amazon,as long as the price difference is not stupid.I also find the imports easier to resell.....especially the ones from Japan with the OBI strip.......EMI in the UK,in particular,makes some nice remasters......hope this helps.
