Up for sale is a SAE Mark XXXib amplifier. This amplifier functions perfectly and sounds great. It was completely refurbished and upgraded by Rick Cullen of Cullen Circuits in Paso Robles, CA about 3 years ago. New binding posts, capacitors, circuitry, etc. Rick added a new 3 prong heavy duty power cord, replacing the original 2 prong lamp cord. There is no on off switch, it powers up when plugged in - the idea was you plugged into the auxiliary outlets on your preamp and controlled it from there. These were originally built in the 1970's. SAE used a "bang for your buck" approach, at least on this particular model. Designed by James Bongiorno (Ampzilla, Great American Sound, Dynaco, etc.), it is one of his personal favorites. The amp does have cosmetic damage when shipped to me, as you will see in the pics. It still sounds great though so no internal harm was done.

Will do a pkg deal for anyone local who might want this and pair it up with one of the sets of speakers that I also have for sale:biggrin:

That isn't my old one, is it? If it is, I'd love to have it back. I won it on ebay and went to pick it up, and met my good friend Charlie Gold that day. I sold it on the forum a few years ago, and I think it got passed around to a couple more Polkies. It had a ding just like too, because he dropped it when I came to pick it up.

Can you take a shot of the facia?

Gordon Miller Music thought that the SAE Mk XXX1b was a dandy complement to Polk Audio Monitor Series loudspeakers... just sayin'...

    GMmusicPolk10primosystem.jpg

I think that copy writer meant that the circuit was fully complementary... but maybe it says nice things to the speakers, as well, who knows?

This is an absolute no brainer without the upgrades - good lord someone nab this on principle and straighten the faceplate out. GREAT amp!

It's all yours Poee7R. Can't justify the money for how much I would use it. It is a very good deal though. Enjoy.

Amp arrived today, looks great, better than the pictures.

Also packed to the hilt, must of been 6 inches of foam to any one side.

    Thanks again Alan.
