I'm back!

Been busy with school (that's a good thing right?) with getting my degree in criminal justice.

Aside from that, I've been steering my hobby away from audio and into cars lately.

You guys might remember the LT1 Z28 I picked up recently. Well I replaced a few things and sold it on CL for profit.

Just 3 weeks ago I picked up a WS6. It's a '98 so no more LT1, hello LS1.

I also just installed some Z06 (C5) staggered rims on Goodyear F1 tires and I love the way they grip!

Enjoy

This is when I first got it before I got new rims and before I clay bar'd it

    SNV14277-1.jpg

    SNV14302.jpg

    This is just earlier today

    SNV14337.jpg

    SNV14350.jpg

Tires on the old rims were 275/40/17 all the way around, now it's 265/40/17 and 295/35/18.

As you can see, I've got a little work ahead of me with that hood. Damn clear coat is peeling away so I've gotta wet-sand it and maybe apply a layer of black before going over it with clear coat.

    Thanks!

LT1's have been dropping lately, but LS1's still fetch a pretty penny.

I can get an easy 10k from my car right now if I wanted a real quick sale so LS1's are still holding some value.

Ordered Pacesetter long tube's last night, can't wait until they're here! Will be going with a mild cam and 3200 or 3600 Yank stall plus new heads.

    I wouldn't mess with modded-anything on an LS1.

The T56 is nice but from a dig, auto is the way to go.

With my plans, I won't have to worry about rebuilding the tranny. Plus if I did need any work done on it, I'd just go with a Performabuilt 4L80E or something.

Good looking car K9!!! I wish my car was payed off so I can start mods, full exhaust, cold air intake, and a tune would be nice at this point. But I want to ride the warranty for a little while then when the car is payed off I will dig into the cam, super charger, and rear end.

My 2010 twin turbo SHO came from the factory with F1s, great tire for ~20k miles then they went to hell in a hurry. They lose their roundness and make for a bumpy ride. Goodyear told me they had no warranty for that tire and refused to listen to my complaints but you'll love them for a little while.

Never really understood blurring the plates. Everyone who sees the car driving down the street can read them anyways. What could someone on the net do with the info that can't be done by anyone who sees it in person?

    Thanks for the comments guys.

Would've come around sooner but I've been real busy.

Larry, I haven't started 'modding' mine yet....long tube pacesetter's on the way but that's it for now.

D, you might get some rubbing issues on the inside depending how wide the wire is. A rubber mallet to the undercoating will help fix that.

read-alot, these tires are great. I can push the car much harder through a turn than I was able to on my Toyo's when I had the WS6 rims on the car.

John, I blurred one awhile ago and later said screw it. My custom license plate is on the way anyway.

Friend here has the software+cable on his laptop to tune my car and he's tuned plenty of LS1's, LS2's, and LS6's.

And yeah you're right about those STS kits, however LSx's don't need a turbo to go fast

put some 3.73 gears and a stall best bang for buck

    It came stock with 3.23's.

I'm looking at a Yank 3200 or 3600 stall (depending on the cam and heads I go with) which will be enough. It's not going to see the track too often to chase 60' so 3.23's will suffice. If I went with shorter gears I'd go 4.10's

Got rid of my 94 Z28 for the WS6 lol....

As for the tranny, I hear ya there.

I've got 2 sets of rims/tires (one of them being brand new, days old) so no worries there either. Let's just hope that when the long tubes get installed, they don't bring too much unwanted attention
