RTia12 and LSi15

It was the LSi9
I took the bottom driver that does more of the low end and swapped it for the top driver...
It sounded substantially better and the owner agreed after getting them back.
Outside of that I lined the rear portion of the enclosure with No Rez and removed the factory polyfill.
Mods on the crossover were done - replaced most of the caps used a Clarity Cap MR bypass cap on the tweeter network.
They were far superior after those few tweaks. Also plugged the ARC ports as I thought they sounded better with them closed off but the owner did unplug them. Preferences ya know!- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

Hmm....wonder if that would help the LSi 15's at all....."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
I believe Jim Ackley said he did this to his 15's
The only thing that would concern me is the fact the top driver would be playing lower and it would be farther than the sub.
The good news is its easy to try and easy to reverse... so try it!- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
I've never heard the LSi line. But asthetically, they don't appeal to me. I'm sure they sound great or even superior but after hearing the A9's... I wonder how much better it can get before stepping into different categories such as Maggies or Martin Logan.
I would love to hear LSi's eventually though. But modding the A9's has me wondering if you can get even more sound out of modded A9's over stock LSi's?
Boy did this thread ever go off course. :P -
i love all the info being put out. i guess i need to find a place that will let me buy a set of RTia9 and LSi15 and test them. see what i like better and return the set i dont.
RTia9 is sounding better for HT now...mole' -
