Welcome to the Club!
Where are you located?

Hello and thank you for the welcome. I am still using a pair of 5B's that I bought new in the 80's I want a similar speaker but in a floorstander The 12's seem to be the model that fits for me, same type of configuration but more drivers and hopefully not a budget buster.I am hoping to find a pair of these in the 300-350 neighborhood with the expectation that I will have to throw a little money at them. replacing drivers ext.
Thanks, RogerI can barely see the road from the heat comin off it -

Welcome to club polk Roger. 12s do come up from time to time. I very nice pair can fetch $175.
Owned a pair and liked them. You can upgrade the tweeters to RDO-198, polks new silk dome to replace the ones that can stock, a worth wild upgrade at 100 for the pair shipped from PA.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)
Preamp: Joule Electra LA-150 MKII SE
Amp: Wright WPA 50-50 EAT KT88s
Analog: Marantz TT-15S1 MBS Glider SL| Wright WPP100C Amperex BB 6er5 and 7316 & WPM-100 SUT
Digital: Mac mini 2.3GHz dual-core i5 8g RAM 1.5 TB HDD Music Server Amarra (memory play) - USB - W4S DAC 2
Cables: Mits S3 IC and Spk cables| PS Audio PCs -
Your best lead will be your local craigslist, the drivers in the older polk speakers don't travel well without first having the magnet's defective glue job reinforced, usually done with JB Weld or epoxy . It's better to pick them up personally and transport gently, then do the re-glue.
