I haven't heard the Time Frames yet, they're around $1,000 a pair right? I love the Time Windows back in the day, and had some of the KX-12 party speakers (simaliar to C-V's) What is the driver complement like on them?

I have a pair of Time Windows. They are decent enough for background music, but for critical listening they aren't particularly detailed and don't image well. There was a pair of Time Frame 600s on Craigslist at the same time, so in deciding between them I looked around a little bit, and opinions seemed mixed on which was the better speaker. I bought the Windows, because they were cheaper.

Hmmm, from my memory the Time Windows were brilliant imager's, they did need some juice to really open up, and placement was critical in the room, I was impressed. I realy like to hear these new ones, looks like they're out of Phoenix AZ, not too far away, http://www.dcmspeakers.com/news/stories/tfe_05.htm

Brought the TF600s home and it has taken some time to get then sounding in the ball park as the 1Cs.

Positioning is tough but once there the sound stage is huge. Positioning is also key for good bass and mid-range. The highs are airy and crisp.

I set the sensitivty on my amp to 1v which was a nice improvement. Tried changing dampening on the amp between 2 and 1 db and at the moment I think I prefer 2db.

Overall I am pretty pleased with them but certainly need more time with them to know if they will stay in the house. They are in excellent shape.

Synergy, placement and listening position is unforgiving with these. On digital music they sound best with my amp's sensitivity set to one and dampening set to two, but on analog stuff i can go one and one.

    I am liking them.

I now know what a transmission line speaker is.

Bass requires perfect triangle listening position.

Well with 2 full days of listening to the TF600s I am happy with them. A bit lighter in the bass than I am used to, they seem more natural. Songs with good strong bass show up. if the recording is light in bass the 600s are light.

Anyway, my first departure from Polks in awhile and for the money I recommend the 600s for something different. YMMV

Did you try to use the Ultra to fill in the lower end?

No, the pb13 would not blend well with these. I am listening to Stealy Dan every thing must go and the bass is excellent. Played Breakfast in America the bass was a bit on the light side.

It really comes down the recording with these. They just play the music with no enhancements that are not there. Maybe that is what I mean by natural. I have these go for low money, they certainly sound better than their cost, provided you get them setup right and have synergy.
