M20s to Moniter 70s Question

Ok I bought Monitor 70 Series 2 off of newegg last night. Cant wait!

Have a Yamaha 5.1 Receiver 100w per channel

PSW10 Sub

CSi25 Center -Next upgrade I think

OWM3 Surrounds

How much of an upgrade do you think the 70s will be? I'm not sure what "class" the M20s are. Are they Monitor 20s basically? Also what is the series 2 vs the normal Monitor 70?

    I am not familiar with the M20's so I can't comment on how they would compare with the Monitor 70's. The Series II Montor's seem to be a Newegg exclusive that have real wood veneers. I have regular Monitor 70's and I am more than pleased with them. For the center speaker, you might consider the CS2 Series II that is matched with the 70's you bought. Newegg has it for 99.99 till 9/12. Great center for that price. Just make sure you have room for it as it is VERY large.

    Just an FYI, the MII's do not actually have real wood veneers. It says so in the description, but it is incorrect. The only real differences are the originals had gray grills with black surrounds, and the NewEgg series II has black grills, with silver surrounds.

    Other than that, they are the same.

    The M70 is a big step up over the M20's. My first HT setup was M20, M10, CS10 and PSW10. Now I have M70, M40, CS2 and it is no comparison in clarity. The M70's almost match the output the PSW10 had in bass.

    I'm running m70s,m50's with cs2 series II center and watching movies at home has never been better.
