I have HK3490 paired with M70. Originally I bought a Pioneer VSX receiver but returned it to get HK3490. This is a good combination and I liked it a lot. The reviews were spot on.
Also added a PSW10. I should have gone for a better sub, but was on a budget. I probably may not have needed a sub if I had gone for a higher end amp / pushing more watts.

The HK is one nice, budget friendly starter receiver. I still have one and some M-70s, though I've never run those on it? I have run LSI-7s, Energy C-10s and Monitor 5 (peerless)...heck, I even hooked the SDA 2Bs to it once and it did a credible job!

Should have no problem with the 70s. Also, makes an OK pre-amp for more a powerful power amp addition on the cheap!

A pair of Polk Monitor 40 bookshelf speakers with a PSW505 sub sound pretty good with the HK 3490, if you chose to retain the Monitor 70's for your home theater.

The first speakers on the 3490 will be my JBL E30's.

    Just testing.

HK is great. I've had three of them and absolutely love their sound.
