Good point Ender, you need the house as quiet as possible when taking measurements.

Before I found REW I was using the SPL meter, a cd with test tones and excel spreadsheet. It would take me half an hour to take measurements, move the sub and remeasure.

    REW takes 5 seconds.

Anyone know if I could use my laptop for this? Here is a screenshot of the jacks I have and what they are used for. If not I know my desktop has line in and line out jacks on it, its just a beast to move lol....

Looks like you will need to use your desktop or an external USB sound card. That is a MIC input and not suited for use with REW.

Are you looking for more bass or LFE? Have you tried switching the phase of the sub? Those LSI speakers look like they should provide a good low end by themselves - I think your sub holding your system back from its full potential. I'd suggest using the new Tron movie as a test for LFE.

Yeah, I have it but would actually prefer some graphs to reference to see if I have some nasty spikes at my listening position.

I have not tried switching the phase of the sub, as noted above I think I need to switch a couple AVR settings as it stands, then I want to take some measurements and see where I stand.

I am aware that both my sub and my AVR's EQ are holding me back right now. I hope to get better subs in the near future as well as a EQ for the sub (like a SMS-1).

Desktop it is. Hell I might REW both my downstairs setup AND my office one just to see how the Monitor 60's sound at my listening position lol.... might start with testing there and then go downstairs once I understand it lol

Good approach to use a test enviroment to play and learn. You are going to love REW once you get it up and working.

Repeat, read the manual 3 times or until you understand the basics.

Well tonight we are gonna relax and do a LOTR marathon (or at least try lol) on blu-ray. I plan to get home, turn on the double bass and watch the movies and see how much difference it makes (or doesnt).

Tomorrow and Sunday the wife works so I can do some REW stuff to figure it out. Hopefully this will help me dial in the bass, or at least understand why I am not getting what I want outta my system.

    Happy Labor Day weekend fella's!

Make sure you also set the crossover frequency on your receiver to 80 Hz :) Good luck and have fun!

Happy Labor Day Weekend to you too!!

Yup, so that helped a bit. I got bunch more bass but still wanting to see what frequencies I am looking at. I like visually seeing how its all playing out.

Pandora streaming sounds better, looking forward to the actual movie and seeing what that does.

Dropped the LSiC to 60 hz, LSi 15's to full range, Double Bass on and Sub set to 80hz.
