RCA IC's

I'm looking for a 6ft pair of IC's for my amp. I currently have a set of Monster i400MKII's, Philips PXT1000's and finally a plain jane set of Radio Shack Gold cables that I found on clearance for a whopping .97 cents. The RS cables are what I'm currently using. The thing is that I haven't noticed a difference between any of them.
I don't want to drop a lot of coin of a set of cables that may or may not sound better than what I currently have. That's why I thought I would check here first. If anyone has anything for a decent price, let me know.
Thanks!

You're doing the right thing by being willing to try out more expensive IC's, even knowing that you may not hear a difference.
Whether you will hear a difference between quality IC's and crappy IC's depends on (2) things:
1: the quality of the other associated gear
2: your ears
There is only one way to find out if good cables will make a difference to you and your setup, and that is to try'em.
If you don't find any great deals here on higher quality used cables, try Signal Cable:

Very good build quality and great customer service. Serious bang for your buck cable. I would recommend the "Analog 2" IC's.
Tell Frank you're a CP member and you might get a discount, but they're a steal at retail.
I think Frank will let you return them if you're not satisfied, so no risk!:biggrin:2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

Agree with falconry. You can also try used and resell.
The 12s with peerless I traded with dskip sounded good with monster ics and decent copper spkr wire 16g, so your spkrs will respond to improvements.
Kimberly, aq, Mits, signal cables are good to roll.
Focus on source and pre, I found less diff between pre and amp.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

Thanks for the input. I'm gonna try the used route first and see what comes up. For the small amount of money that I've put into my system, it's difficult to justify spending a fortune on cables(and even harder to get permission from the old lady). If nothing pans out with the used route, I will give Signal Cable a try.Display: Sony 42" LCD

One of the reasons you probably don't hear a difference is because all of the cables are about the same quality, similar build and similar contents like shielding (or lack of) quality of copper used, termination, etc, etc.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul!
