Vintage Infinity RS-7 Speaker Review and Information

Not much info on the web about these rare vintage Infinity speakers. Recently I picked up a pair in mint condition with original boxes, foam inserts and even the original warranty card. Consecutive serial numbers as well. Thought I would take a few minutes to share my opinions and get some more information about them posted to the net.
Vintage speakers are where it is at for me, especially in the budget/low end of the audio world. There is just something about older speakers that tickles my fancy. Maybe it is the "Made in the USA" factor for many of the vintage models, or it could be the childhood memories of listing to Pops rig or one of my Uncle's systems that hold a place in my heart.
Vintage Polk Audio speakers are some of my favorites. Give me some SDA's or Monitor Series and some decent gear and I can enjoy that!
The Infinity RS7 is a very well balance speaker. I love the famous EMIT tweeter. You will need a sub with these, no doubt, but they do have some nice tight bass on their own. An 8" woofer in a sealed chamber always sounds nice to my ear. Midrange from the RS7 is outstanding.
My 2-channel rig chair seating is pretty low, so these speakers on a set of 18" Lovan Jazz stands worked out perfect.
Not sure why, but these are some of the most non-fatiguing speakers I have ever owned. They are very enjoyable for long listening sessions. Seems like great synergy with the NAD gear. The Polk DSW PRO 500 sub is also very musical on its own, and crossed over at the lowest point of 60 Hz works well with the RS7's.
To sum it up, if you stumble onto a pair, give them a try. You may be surprised at the great sound from such a simple vintage 3-way speaker!

Onkyo Integra M504, Bottlehead Foreplay III, Denon SACD, Thiel CS2.3, NHT VT-2, VT-3 and Evolution T6, Infinity RSIIIa, SDA1C and a few dozen other speakers around the house I change in and out. -
I have the rs7B and they look darn close to yours but that mid on yours has one heck of a hefty surround on it. mine is no where near that big.
They are a great sounding speaker!!!. I found mine in the garbage a few years ago and re foamed the woofer. Very underestimated speaker in sound. I have them at work and use them daily!! Can't stress enough how much better the rig sounds with no gear in between the speakers. Huge free tweak/upgrade!

Nice write up and I agree vintage is where it's at for my budget and I'm loving it. By the way, the Infinity logo is upside-down. They'll sound a lot better with the logo right-side up, trust me on this one....
