Hsu or SVS
I'm considering between a Hsu VTF-15 and an SVS PB12 plus 2.
Thoughts anyone?

Application? Music? Movies? Associated gear? Room size? Placement options?Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

Movies. SRT's Thanks.

Svs pb12+

Dual Micropro 4000's. It's what Al Ballard runs with his SRT's, and actually in his room, we shut them off - the SRT's had plenty-o-bass.
Cheers,

I have had two SVS's. One of the powered cylinders (20-39pci ) and currently have a a PB-12 plus. I wish I still had the cylinder you could pretty much put it anywhere in my room and it sounded good. If you were in central Texas I would sell you my PB-12 in a heartbeat and get another cylinder.
I've never tried HSU but am tempted to try their mid-bass unit they have. -

Trade ya for a 16-46 -
What size room in cubic feet are you trying to preasurize?
If your room is 3000cf with opening to large room neither will give you joy.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

My SVS PB 12+2 works pretty well in my >5000 sq ft theater/pool table/bar area. Dual subs would definately be better and a targeted future upgrade, but the this SVS sub is a monster and can seriously shake the house.Parasound HCA-2003A & 2205A

You must mean cubic feet not square feet.
If it is square feet then I am selling my PB13 and getting the 12+2.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

Of those two? SVS, easy.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Agree with Dorokusai but still need to know room cf. Your choices may leave you unhappy or botteming out your sub.
My room is 3750 cf with large opening (1800cf) and a hallway. My Hsu 3 3 bottom out on some deeper lfe, same when I added 2 mid bass modules. I was using REW for frequent sweeps and calibration and a bfd 1124 for filtering. Still on iron man when he lifted off in the mid east fight I could bottom out. I like HSUs in the right room. The 3 3 is a musical sub for being ported, more so than the pb13 imo.
Sold it all and bought the PB13. his one filter built in and that was all I needed when previously with the hsu's I needed 3.
Anyway, I set it and have not touched in the last 3 years.
Good luck, learning proper setup is important.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)
