changing ic cables

Is there a " best ' order when replacing (upgrading ) ic cables? Ie sources to preamp first or amp /pre conections . Need to evaluate the new cables so I'm thinking source first but would like some input. Thanks

    I found source and pre made the most change also speaker cables, found less change between amp and pre but a change none the less.
    Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)
    Preamp: Joule Electra LA-150 MKII SE
    Amp: Wright WPA 50-50 EAT KT88s
    Analog: Marantz TT-15S1 MBS Glider SL| Wright WPP100C Amperex BB 6er5 and 7316 & WPM-100 SUT

    I only ran digital cables to my pre, so I never tried IC's from the source. I know trying different IC's between my Pre and Amp made a big difference. I noticed a bigger difference trading power cables and IC's than I did trading speaker wire personally.
